Skipper

Simon James (50), founder and Managing Director of Essential Supplies, moved to Cornwall in 1995 from Surrey. Married to Sarah with 2 children Paddy (12) and Meg (10). Sarah works alongside Simon selling decorative lighting. Home is very close to the sea at Downderry, where Meg goes to primary school (beside the beach), while Paddy goes daily to school at Plymouth College. Simon has enjoyed boats all his life, bought his first Rib a Zodiac in 2003, then an Avon 5.6m in 2006. The whole family are involved with boats and the sea, spending a lot of time on the beach and ribbing holidays on the Scilly Isles.

Crew

Simon is inviting various friends, and business customers along on the trip. Some people will come for a few hours and others for a few legs of the trip. No one else so far is fool hardy enough to come on the whole trip. Quite just how Simon intends to meet up with the right people at the right times and in the right places is a mystery to everyone.  Watch this blog.!

Charities

Simon is using the round Britain Trip to help raise money for 2 charities.  Parkinson’s UK  and Multiple Sclerosis Society. Both charities work to support research and provide practical  help for anyone effected. Simon’s father Matthew James has had Parkinsons for about 10 years and Simon’s sister Lucy Matthews has MS.
